EU-kommissionen satsar på öppenhet inom utbildning

I höstas startades EU-kommissionens stora initiativ kring öppenhet inom utbildning, Open Education Europa. Ana Carla Pereira, chef för EU-kommissionens Directorate General Education and Culture intervjuas här om sina förhoppningar och förväntningar kring öppenhet och utveckling av nätbaserad utbildning i Europa. Hon ser många spännande initiativ idag men det är viktigt att öppenhet och delning av resurser kommer upp på strategisk nivå i alla länder och att regeringar tar mer övergripande initiativ. Hon pratar om MOOC-utvecklingen och behovet av kvalitetssäkring och validering inom e-lärande.

- I think we will really look at issues related to quality assurance, assessment, and certification to ensure that those who follow massive open online courses can actually have their skills certified. I think we need to look at education both from a quality perspective […] but also efficiency. Efficiency as a means of using the scarce resources we have in Europe right now to make the best out of it and make sure that citizens really get high quality education.
